Author Interview: Rucy Ban & Giveaway!

Seventeen-year-old Kari meets Neil Mars. “Neil as in Armstrong and Mars…as in Bruno.” A boy who beats every vampire, werewolf, highlander fantasy Kari has ever had. But she knows can’t get close to him. Not ever. Because that would mean telling him everything. Coming clean. And Kari can’t bear the idea of changing the way Neil looks at her. Like she’s the only girl in the world. His reverence is something too precious to lose. Perhaps even at the cost of losing him.
But Kari doesn't know why Neil calls her his ‘Angel’ and when she finds out, she realizes what love is all about. Boundless joy, unending longing and a fuckload of heartache.

Thank you Rucy for taking the time to indulge your fans!

SRNA: The cover of your new book All My Life is steamy! Who designed it for you?
RB: My background in graphic design helped me through this. I wanted something which captured the essence of a scene in my novel and that’s how this steamy cover came to fruition.

SRNA: What inspired you to write All My Life?
RB: I have a brave and beautiful friend who had a horrid experience with one of her ex’s. Her story inspired me to write something which would give that extra nudge to any girl trying to break free of her past.

SRNA: What else have you written?
RB: I have written a Young Adult novel which is still under consideration with a publisher. I’m keeping my fingers crossed on that one.

SRNA: Are you working on anything else at the moment?
RB: Yes! My next New Adult novel takes further on the story of two side-characters from All My Life. Hopefully, readers will love that as well.

SRNA: Do you listen to music while you write?
RB: Absolutely. Playing right now: The Head And The Heart. I love this band!

SRNA: Are you a panster or a plotter?
RB: A plotter. Post-its help me wade through my madness.

SRNA: How long did it take you to write All My Life?
RB: Six months. All thanks to my son’s afternoon naps!

SRNA: If you could offer one piece of advice for aspiring authors, what would it be?
RB: Keep writing, never give up! Also, write with your heart and edit with your mind.

SRNA: When did you decide to get serious and write a novel?
RB: When I first read Slammed by Colleen Hoover. I really look up to her. Her words, her simplicity, the world she creates, everything about her inspires me to do better at my own writing.

SRNA: I imagine it to be very beautiful in Brazil (Brasil - whichever you prefer). Tell us what you would miss the most if you had to move.
RB: The powdery sugary beaches. It’s heaven on Earth. Though I live in the jungles of Sao Paulo, which is full of concrete and distressingly cold at the moment!

SRNA: Have you thought about who would play Kari and Neil in All My Life - the movie?
RB: Ryan Gosling (swoon!) and Kristin Stewart (I wish!).

SRNA: Do you have anything you would like to say to your fans?
RB: You make this possible! Honestly and truly, I owe this to you.
