Book Review: Ten Days of Perfect

Ten Days of Perfect (November Blue, #1) by Andrea Randall: This is the first book in the November Blue series.

Scars from her first love, and the reckless lifestyle of her parents force Ember Harris to chart a new course. She favors practicality over spontaneity, and rules over a broken heart.

An encounter with a musician at a local pub forces Ember into making a decision between letting go or holding on for dear life as passions are unlocked and deceptions revealed.

TeriLyn's thoughts: I loved this book. At first I thought the fast paced relationship between Ember and Bo was unrealistic and a little forced but then I was so hooked as I got more and more into it. This author knows how to write heart break and intense love scenes. It really shook me and pulled at my heart. Some of the love scenes were so hauntingly beautiful I just knew I was being set up for heartbreak at the end. I wasn't disappointed that I was right, but so sad at the same time because I was hoping I was wrong.

Ember is fantastic. Just a sarcastic, confident, hippie at heart, kick ass character; I loved her. She loved passionately. But with Bo Cavanaugh how could you not? He was tortured, soulful, and totally swoon worthy. The secondary characters were great too. Ember had the perfect friend in Monica. The relationship between Ember and her parents was great. Bo's younger sister was a spunky addition. I'm still not sure how I feel about this Adrian Turner business. Ember's residual feelings for him pissed me off although I understand their purpose. Guess I'll have to deal with it a lot more in Reckless Abandon.

The music in the book was awesome too; right up my alley. I'm indie/folk rock girl at heart. And I was introduced to Ani Difranco's music with this book and I dig it!

I can't wait until I can crawl back in my reading hole and read Reckless Abandon. Ember and Bo will not escape my mind!
