Book Review: Reasonable Doubt 2

Reasonable Doubt: Volume 2 (Reasonable Doubt #2) by Whitney Gracia Williams: She lied to me...
She betrayed the one rule that I'm most adamant about: Honesty. Complete and utter fucking honesty.
I really wish she was someone else—someone who didn't have the ability to make me feel, someone I could easily discard like the hundreds of women before her.
She isn't.
I'm drawn to her like I've never been drawn to a woman before—completely captivated by the very sight of her. But unfortunately, with my past slowly re-surfacing for all of the world to see, I'll have to find a way to let her go.
She can never be mine.

  SAYS:

We waited and waited for more Andrew, we finally got him back and he's the same angry, sexy, alluring man we left in Volume one. The the second volume of Reasonable Doubt did not disappoint picking up right where Volume One left off taking us on another lawful roller coaster ride. Commanding Andrew and challenging Aubrey have met their match in each other creating a fast, fun plot full of angst, hot sex (and I'm talking hot sex like in the bathroom-on the desk-against the wall hot sex), flirty banter, and mystery. What I like about these novellas most is the focus of the story staying on the H/h. Andrew's erected a wall around his secrets with arrogance that's deviously hot. Aubrey cracked that wall with her feisty attitude. Watching their story unfold is like watching fireworks on the Fourth of July. We don't have much time with secondary characters, truths revealing mostly only by Andrew and Aubrey. Those secondary characters, mostly being the villains of the story, lace the plot with more questions and conflict leaving us wanting more. The author possesses a great sense of leaving the reader wanting answers to questions that she's not ready to give. Her writing fluidly moves forward to the next conflict and the next questions. It's a fun series to read; good characters, good writing, good plot - everything we need for a good story. And of course, Ms. Williams smartly dangles some bait at the end leaving us wanting Volume Three like, yesterday.
