Book Review: Translucent

Translucent (Luminous #1) by Erin Noelle: Sometimes you reach a point where you just can’t take any more — a breaking point, some call it.

The day I watched my husband murder the woman who was pregnant with his child, my point didn’t just break, it exploded like a full magazine’s worth of hollow points firing through the barrel of a fully-automatic AK-47.

I am no longer his American Princess, nor am I his slave.

Now, I’m a murderer in hiding. My name was Bryleigh Carter Oliveira, and that was my story.

Translucent is one woman's story of breaking free, starting over, and learning to trust again through willful submission.

Jennifer's thoughts: I had forgotten how much I liked Erin Noelle's novels. I read her Book Boyfriend Series forever ago and loved it. I have to say she did not disappoint with Translucent, the first book of her new series. It was much different than her Book Boyfriend Series, which is great. Because there is nothing worse than reading books by the same author that are all basically the same.

Bryleigh is working toward putting her past behind her. A past that no 22 year old woman should ever have to endure. In the process she meets Madden, who is a great match for her. He suffers from his own past and heartbreak, but nothing as traumatic as what Bryleigh has been through. The chemistry between these two is strong and emotionally charged. Erin gives us a novel full of love, hate, and raw emotions that leaves you wondering if the story is based on real life. Definitely her best work yet. Good job Erin Noelle! I loved this book and am looking forward to the next one!
