Book Review & Giveaway: The Cave

The Cave (The Wind Cave #1)
by Michela Montgomery

When a nuclear war devastates the U.S., a four-day excursion quickly turns into a fight for survival in The Cave. Six Stanford students journey into one of the deepest and longest caves in North America. A day into their journey, a nuclear war begins from within the U.S. Unable to return to the surface, and unsure what they will find when they do, the Cave will test the strength and survival of each person differently - transforming six individuals into a team, and ultimately...a family.

Lori's thoughts: ***Book furnished free of charge in exchange for an honest review*** I finished this a while back and haven't continued the series, yet. I am interested in finding out what happens to the group now. I enjoyed The Cave, but in places, I felt like it was a bit slow and I found myself skimming through parts of the book to see what happened. I know some people enjoy long books, but I find myself growing impatient when they are much over 300 pages. I feel like this one could have been shorter without sacrificing the story. That being said, I did enjoy the unique story and found myself engrossed in the description of the cave. I feel like the author either did a lot of research on caves or has gone spelunking herself. I will probably continue the series to see where they go from here!
